食事五観文。 The Prayer of the Five Observations (chanted before meal)

昨晩は雨、雷凄かった小値賀島です。
Last night was heave raining and thunder in Ojika island.

今日は1日中曇りですね。
Today is all day cloudy weather

今週も予定がびっしり、やる事がいっぱい
This weekend I have a lot of things to do again.

ありがたき幸せです。
I am a happy man.

昨日から風邪かなって思った時
But I felt a like I had a touch of a cold last night

以前読んだ本に
I reminded me that I used to read a book,

食事五観文について書いてました。
Book said that "The Prayer of the Five Observations (chanted before meal)"

禅の食事に関する5つの教えです。
Five of the teaching of Zen related meal. 

命を頂くことに感謝し、出された食事を美味しく頂く作法
Thanks to the life of animals and plants that eaten on a daily life, enjoy eating whatever meal and people make for you.

一には公の多少を図り、彼の来所を量る。
First, considering what I have done today, and I suppose the so enormous efforts of others, who have made their efforts for producing the stuff of meals and cooking.

二には己が徳行の、全欠をはかって供に応ず。
Second, thinking the perfectly lacking my moral behavior,I accept the meals with many thanks.

三には心を防ぎと過貧等を離るるを宗とす。
Third, our efforts to prevent abstract considerations and leave from mistake, are mainly relying upon our efforts of regulating our desire, anger, and stupidities.

四には正に良薬を事とするは形枯を療ぜんが為なり
Fourth,the reason,why I receive meals as good medicine, is just to cure and prevent withering and weakening of mine.

五には道業を成が為に、まさに此の食を受くべし。
Fifth, I receive those meals just for accomplishment of getting the Truth.

そのうちの1つに
One of the teaching in Zen

正に良薬を事とするは形枯を療ぜんが為なり
The reason why,

食事とは健康を得るための薬。
I receive meals as good medicine,

身体と心の健康のために食事を頂きます。
It's just to cure and prevent withering and weakening of mine.

という意味です。

私たちに当たり前の感覚
That's take it for granted 

健康第一
Health as top priority

美味しいものを食べないと

今夜は美味しものいっぱい食べるぞ!
Tonight we will eat delicious food

秋は食欲の秋
Autumn aptitude

健康に良く、新鮮で美味しい旬のものを食べるようにしたいですね。
I want to eat good fresh food, health body and enjoy life.

禅の教えってハンパない
Teaching of Zen is amazing

座禅(瞑想)には、集中力を高めたり、記憶力を向上させたり、頭が整理されたりする効果があると言われてます。
Zazen and meditation is affect of us that increase the power of concentration, an enhancement in memory and straighten one's thinking. 

瞑想を難しく考えないでいいと
Don't think about meditation is difficult way.

場所や座り方も、自己流でもいいんです。
Where you did how to do, own way is OK!

Only three min

1分でもいいから
Only one min

目を閉じて
Just close your eyes

呼吸を整えてみればいい
To control your breathing

呼吸に意識を向けると緊張が解け
You will provide a release of tension focus on your breath

心の乱れが整いますね!
You don't lose your composure !

人体にもたらすメリットは多くて
There are a lot of good ways to do mediation

その中に1つが
One of the good way

親切になれるということです
You will become a kindly man

何も考えないという時間は、
Time which you don't want to think about anything

嫌な事をわすれて前に進むきっかけになり、
You will forget something you don't like it, then you will go forward your life.

人にも優しい気持ちで接する事ができるのです。
And also you will be able to come in contact with warm feeling to people.  

小値賀島の自然と環境は瞑想するにはハンパない!
There are great places to do mediation in Ojika island
